EXPERIENCES / PRIVATE FIELD FORMATS
HISA experiences start with a real plan, not a public-tour product. Once a year Joe puts a proper motorcycle adventure in the diary and says: “This is where I’m going. Are you keen to join?” The group begins with friends, with a small number of carefully considered new guests where there is room.
THE HISA WAY
HISA experiences begin with the destination Joe genuinely wants to reach—one proper motorcycle adventure each year, then an open question to the right people: “Are you keen to join?” They are private, men-only gatherings rather than public departures. Invitations come first, and up to two new guest places are held for applicants who come through a considered profile and interview. The aim is simple: extraordinary country, the right company and costs kept close to what the experience actually needs.
HISA-made editions are shared at actual trip costs plus 10% to bring the experience together; they are deliberately budget-friendly rather than high-margin public departures. Independently operated experiences keep the local operator’s published booking price and direct booking process.

JOE’S 2027 RIDE · NAMIBIA · 16–23 APRIL
Once a year, Joe puts one big motorcycle adventure in the diary. For 2027, it is Namibia: dunes, beach runs, dry riverbeds and open desert. He is flying into Walvis Bay, renting a KTM 500 through Untamed Africa Tours, riding with their local guide and support crew, then flying home after the finish. Are you keen to join?

THE BRIEF
This is not a scheduled public departure HISA has invented to sell places. It is the ride Joe wants to make in 2027, using Untamed Africa’s published Enduro Tour: sand under the wheels, salt air on the coast and long, rough country in between. If the plan speaks to you, ask to join the small group. It remains deliberately simple: fly into Walvis Bay, rent your KTM 500 through Untamed Africa, ride with their local team, then fly home after the finish.

A seven-day journey through two worlds: four days at the Farm in Ficksburg, then three days on horseback through Lesotho. Before the main event begins, the retreat opens with a dedicated day at Rutherford Forge, where every guest makes a personal field knife for the road ahead.
Main retreat: 7 days / 6 nights · Rutherford Forge is a separate pre-retreat date before Day 1

THE ROUTE
The main route is built with contrast: settle into the Valley first, then earn the longer line through the Kingdom. Before that route begins, the separate Rutherford Forge day puts a hand-made field knife in every guest’s kit—and marks the start of the journey before Day 1 arrives.
THE ITINERARY
Scheduled before the main event start date. Make a personal field knife by hand, then arrive for the route with something you carry forward.
Arrive through Johannesburg, transfer to the Farm in Ficksburg, share the welcome dinner and open the week together.
Hikes, breathwork, fire, good food, cold water, storytelling and space to slow down before the terrain changes.
Three days on horseback through Lesotho: mountains, remote villages, high passes, rivers and long nights under open sky.
Finish the horseback route, then transfer back toward Johannesburg for the next leg home.
THE RHYTHM
FROM VALLEY TO KINGDOM
Start at the forge, settle into the Valley, then ride through the Kingdom with the field knife you made before the main route began.

PEOPLE / PLACE / FIRE
A route that moves at a human pace: walking together, gathering under rock and letting the fire be part of the day.

WHAT THE ROUTE ASKS
This is an outdoor week for men who want to be present. It is not a boot camp, but the Valley and Kingdom itinerary asks for a reasonable base of fitness, time in the saddle and respect for the people sharing the experience.
The Rutherford Forge date happens before the main event start. Arrival timing and the pre-retreat plan are confirmed with the final dates.
Days 1–4 combine walking, breathwork, fire, cold water, shared food and space to properly slow down.
Days 5–7 bring three demanding, rewarding days on horseback through Lesotho’s mountain terrain.
Final word: The annual host team will confirm the practical fit, riding requirements, packing list and final route details before bookings open.
THE PRACTICAL PART
Main retreatSeven days / six nights across Ficksburg and Lesotho, with accommodation, meals, guided experiences, horseback expedition time, local support and Johannesburg ground transfers planned for the confirmed edition. Pricing follows the HISA cost-plus model: actual trip costs + 10%.
Pre-retreat forge dayRutherford Forge is scheduled before Day 1 of the main retreat. It is its own date: a hands-on day making a personal field knife before the seven-day route begins, costed transparently at actual costs + 10%.
THE MAIN EVENT
FICKSBURG / LESOTHO / JOHANNESBURG
The final edition will release the retreat dates, individual arrival windows and the separate Rutherford Forge pre-retreat date before the seven-day itinerary begins.HORSEBACK ADVENTURE

Riding that respects the animal, the land and the host.
The first HISA horseback format is being shaped.
OVERLAND ADVENTURE
Overland Adventure is for the space between the obvious stops: a small convoy, a well-considered route and local businesses that make the distance worth travelling.
Request an invitation →More road, fewer shortcuts and time for the unexpected.
Travel together while backing the right people on the ground.
The first HISA overland format is being shaped.
HISA EXPERIENCES / ANNUAL INVITATION
These adventures begin with a real annual plan: this is where Joe is going—are you keen to join? They are for men and are not open to the normal public. Invitations come first; if you are not already in the group, this profile starts a careful application and interview process. Only two new guests can join each event.
A guest application does not guarantee an interview, invitation, booking or payment. Share only what feels relevant—please do not include private health, legal or financial information.
